Rats are a nuisance that affects every household. This nuisance isn’t just intrusive and annoying but potentially lethal too. It can be learned from history that rats have created problems that were larger than life. For example, the Bubonic plague that killed more than 20 million people in Europe in the 1300s was amplified by rats that carried the parasite.

How do rats enter our homes?

Rats can enter your houses from open doors and windows. Any open space is a free passage for rats to enter your house and create havoc. However, there is one particular area that is the busiest passage for rats that we tend to ignore, and that is the drains.

Rats enter our homes through drains, which have enough water and food supply to make it a heaven for rats. Without the use of protective measures like rat flap, these passages remain unguarded and busy.

Rats can enter the houses through these pipes and create havoc. Rats can chew on almost everything from electrical wires to carpets to food. Not to mention these rats cause deadly diseases like salmonellosis and Lymphocytic choriomeningitis too.

With its first way entry, the flaps let feces and water to pass through them but don’t let rats pass. These flaps let the rats inside the rats to pass through but don’t let them enter again, keeping your house safe.
  • Setting Traps Outside: Setting traps outside your house can prevent rats from entering your house by killing them outside. You’ll still need to clean them though.
